TRAINING BEYOND THE MINIMUM
PROFICIENCY-DRIVEN TRAINING
Being legal does not equal being proficient.
Meeting regulatory training requirements is an essential milestone, but proficiency develops through practice. As part of our FlightPod Managed Simulation Service, Proficiency-Driven Training (PDT) is designed to complement the credited training programme with approximately 25–30 additional hours of structured simulator practice. Affordable access allows students to repeat demanding exercises, strengthen fundamental skills and prepare for situations they may rarely encounter during normal flight training.
PRACTISE, REVIEW, PROGRESS
Developed in collaboration with experienced pilots and instructors, PDT combines progressive exercises with realistic operational scenarios. Students can practise instrument approaches, abnormal procedures, decision-making and threat management in a controlled environment. Exercises can be repeated, adapted and made progressively more challenging as skills develop.
TRAINING WITH PURPOSE
Each session is designed around clear objectives, and performance data can be recorded for review and debriefing. Students can identify areas for improvement, repeat specific exercises and follow their progression under instructor supervision. PDT does not replace required flight training or credited simulator hours. It adds opportunities to practise, develop sound judgement and build confidence beyond the minimum requirements.
The proposed 25–30 additional hours represent a programme target, subject to validation through our research project.
